“The privilege of a lifetime is to become conscious of what we truly are.”

- Carl Jung

Welcome to Cinder & Fern Counseling

Life brings periods of challenge, change, and growth. Whether you're healing from past trauma, navigating a new transition or the complexities of life, or want to shed old thought patterns- or behaviors- that no longer serve you, I provide a supportive and collaborative space to help you move forward. From my own personal experience, I know how difficult it can be to navigate these challenges. My goal is to help you traverse with ease and move towards alignment with your goals. I work with individual adults and teens, and specialize in trauma and PTSD, dissociation, OCD, and chronic pain.

In my work with clients, I draw on the symbolism of cinder and fern to guide the therapeutic process. Fire represents the power of clarity and transformation—burning away what no longer serves to create space for insight and growth. The cinder, the quiet ember that remains, holds the pause between ending and beginning, offering reflection and integration. The fern, one of the Earth’s oldest plants, symbolizes resilience and the gentle, natural unfolding that follows disruption. Together, these elements reflect the rhythm of healing: release, rest, and renewal.

“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.”
Rumi

In the therapeutic process, we rediscover this truth: that even in moments of fragmentation, our wholeness has never been lost—only hidden. I help clients reconnect with their inner strength, sense of self, and place in the larger fabric of life with compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for their unique path.

My approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. I help individuals reconnect with their innermost selves, process unresolved experiences, let go of old beliefs and behaviors, and reclaim parts of themselves that may have been lost or buried. Together, we work to build skills and insight that move you toward healing, resilience, and living more authentically.
